UNHCR criticizes Italian ship who returned migrants to Libya

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office in Italy criticized the return of 108 migrants rescued from the sea to Libya by an Italian ship.

The Commission pointed out that Libyan ports “are not safe”, and this act may violate international law, according to Italian news agency Aki.

At the beginning of July, Italy refused to receive ships carrying migrants rescued from the sea at its ports.
