Salame discusses problems in Kufra with Zuwiya and Tabu tribes

The United Nations special envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, discussed with delegations from the tribes of Zuwiya and Tabu the problems facing Kufra city, such as services, development, border control, accountability and compensation.

Salame met with the two delegations at a two-day meeting organized by the United Nation Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to monitor the progress made in reconciliation in Kufra and ways to improve social cohesion.

On Thursday, an armed group stopped a bus on its way from Kufra to Ajdabiya and kidnapped eight passengers who are likely to be held by Chadian groups from the southern desert.
