Sawan: There are parties seeking to prolong the transition phases

The head of the Justice and Construction party, Mohamed Sawan said “There are political and military parties in Libya that do not want a referendum on the constitution and are trying to prolong the transition phases for reasons that are not real.”

Sawan said, in an interview with Iraqi channel Alrafidain, “There is no solution to the division that Libya is experiencing until the international community helps the Libyans to hold elections on a permanent constitution that ends these bodies and leads to one elected body.”

The head of the Justice and Construction party called for the holding of elections on the basis of a permanent constitution, and this is welcomed by the Libyan people, adding that some parties seek to hold elections according to another transitional stage, saying that this will not be in the interest of Libya’s stability.

Sawan accused some of the parties of benefiting from the continued chaos, the use of deceits to challenge the constitution draft, and that it does not want to hold elections, while the broad base of the Libyan people want to hold elections on the basis of a permanent constitution.
