Fayez Al-Sarraj, the president of the presidential council of the Government of National Accord, will attend an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Istanbul to discuss the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
According to the media office of the President, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for the convening of the “emergency” meeting in order to discuss the plan of the US administration on Al-Quds.
US President Donald Trump announced last Wednesday his recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel which is internationally recognised as occupied Palestinian territory. He also announced that the American embassy will be transferred to the occupied city.
