Elections Commission discusses support for women’s participation in electoral entitlements

On Tuesday, the head of the Women’s Support Unit at the Electoral Commission, Arig Al-Ajili, discussed with representatives of media institutions and civil society organizations in Tripoli ways and mechanisms to support women’s participation in the electoral process.

She explained the units’ goals of overcoming the difficulties hindering women’s participation in the political participation. Al-Ajili explained how to target women and make them more aware in order to support the registration process.

The department of Data Management of the Commission presented on how to register in the electoral register through the text message service, the method of changing the electoral center, and disengagement.

The Awareness Department presented the results of the public opinion poll on the elections in Libya for the year 2017, which was overseen by IFES in cooperation with UNHCR.
