UN calls for the handover of oil ports to the recognized NOC

UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for the transfer of oil ports to the control of the Government of National Accord (GNA) and its National Oil Corporation (NOC).

On Tuesday, Guterres expressed his concern about the developments in the oil crescent region, stressing the exclusive management and sale of oil to the NOC in Tripoli, in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2259.

The Secretary-General reiterated his support for the efforts of UN special envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame to achieve a political process by implementing the United Nations plan of action, adding that they stand with legitimate institutions and all concerned parties to achieve a just and equitable distribution of Libya’s natural resources.

Haftar Forces announced on Monday, handing over ports and oil facilities of the parallel institution in the city of Benghazi.
