Egyptian Foreign Minister discusses political process in Libya with German Defense Minister

Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry and German Defense Minister, Ursula von der Leyen discussed the political process in Libya under the leadership of the United Nations (UN).

According to Egyptian newspaper Akhbarelyom, Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Ahmed Abozeid said Shoukry and von der Leyen   reviewed the efforts exerted by Egypt to help unite the Libyan military establishment and its coordination with Tunisia and Algeria on the Libyan file.

Shoukry expressed Egypt’s hope for further German support in the field of training and equipment to control the border with Libya.

The past week, Cairo has received both Speaker of the House of Representatives (HOR), Aqila Saleh and Operation Dignity commander Khalifa Haftar, whose visit was not officially announced.
