GNA receives credentials of new UK ambassador to Libya

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Lutfi Al-Maghrabi received at the headquarters of the ministry in Tripoli the credentials of the new British Ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker.

Baker said in a statement after handing over his credentials, he was returning to Libya after working for many years in Tripoli, adding he was looking forward to starting his work in Tripoli as UK’s ambassador.

Baker also said he will work to strengthen Libyan-British relations in various fields, especially economic and trade, education and health, and help establish security and stability, and revive ties between the Libyans and the British.

Two days ago, the Queen of Britain had approved Frank Baker as her ambassador to Libya, replacing former ambassador Peter Millett.
