Drafting sessions for the amendment of the political agreement in #Tunisia come to an end

On Saturday, the Joint Drafting Committee for the amendment the Libyan political agreement concluded its meetings regarding the finalization of amendments to the LPA in Tunisia.

UNSMIL released a statement on their official website saying that today’s meeting concluded with the identification of many points of both consensus and difference; adding that the Supreme Council of the State and House of Representatives members will return to Libya on Sunday.

The delegation also stated that they will seek to implement the various elements of the plan of action put forward by the United Nations Envoy, Ghassan Salame, which was adopted by the Security Council.

The statement also reinforced the objective of UNSMIL’s plan which culminates in free and fair elections within one year from its announcement aims at moving Libya out of the current political impasse and usher in a better future for the next generations.
