The head of the Justice and Construction Party, Mohamed Sawan, welcomed the signature of the “5 + 5” committee members of the final ceasefire agreement, considering it an important step to stop the bloodshed of the Libyans.

On his personal Facebook page, Sawan said that he hopes to close the doors on military solutions and block the way to the continued presence of mercenaries and the interventions that threaten Libya’s wealth and lands.

Sawan stressed that this agreement is a fundamental pillar to push the success of the other tracks of dialogue, which must follow quickly to achieve a comprehensive settlement, appreciating the role of all parties participating in the dialogue and the role of the UN mission in sponsoring it, and we call on the Security Council to ensure that the parties adhere to the agreement.

In the same context, the United States Embassy in Libya welcomed the signing of the permanent ceasefire in all of Libya, which took place during the talks of the “5 + 5” joint military committee in Geneva.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, “António Guterres,” considered the Libyan agreement in Geneva an essential step towards peace in Libya, and thanked all the countries that supported the agreement.

Guterres stressed that there is no military solution in Libya and the ceasefire agreement is a very important step.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry welcomed the announcement by two delegations of the signing of the “5 + 5” joint military commission agreement in Geneva, to cease fire, hoping that it would be a step forward on the road to a comprehensive political solution.
