A number of members of the Constitution Commission for the Drafting of the Constitution announced their categorical rejection of any attempts by Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh that would exceed his duties by infringing on the powers of the Commission, and creating parallel bodies that would undertake the tasks entrusted to the body.
And 43 members of the commission confirmed, in a statement issued by them, on Wednesday, that the commission alone has the original jurisdiction and not others, which undertake the task of drafting a permanent constitution for the country in accordance with the provisions of the constitutional declaration and its amendments and the provisions of the Libyan judiciary.
The members called on all national and international Authorities not to deal with the proposals of the Speaker of the House of Representatives or to recognize them for violating the constitutional documents, according to the text of the statement.
