Member of Parliament Abdul Moneim Al-Urfi said in a statement to Arraed on Wednesday that he is not in favor of postponing the elections, and that there are laws that have been voted on and approved.
Al-Urfi explained that the Commission until the last moment says that it is ready and has only technical observations to submit to the House of Representatives, and it was accepted and its observations included in the election law.
Al-Arfi added that it was not the House of Representatives who set the elections on December 24, but rather it was agreed upon in Geneva, pointing out that after December 24, this government is considered finished, explaining that there must be a constitution that regulates the relationship of the ruler with the people and what are his powers.
Al-Urfi saw that things are murky, and nothing is clear, and I hope that Dbaiba will hand over power.
Al-Urfi explained that they will discuss in the next session the unification of state salaries, and that the law is ready and the House of Representatives must vote on it and unify state salaries according to grades, so that there is no social disparity.
Al-Urfi indicated that they will discuss investment portfolios and the Internal Security Law, and then we will discuss the elections.
It is worth noting that the High Electoral Commission proposed postponing the presidential elections to January 24, 2022, after it was not possible to hold them on schedule; “Because of force majeure” with regard to interference in political input, and the legal rulings issued for the final list of candidates.
