Member of Parliament, Fatima Bu Saada, said that the deputies demanded the necessity of holding a session; To discuss the recent developments of the electoral process, indicating that the session came against the backdrop of a deviation from the legal texts regulating elections, security breaches, and the looting of a number of electoral process documents represented in voter cards.
The deputy added, according to – “Russian Sputnik” agency – that the House of Representatives, which gave confidence to the government and removed it from it, has the right to announce a new initiative or road plan with a new date for the elections, and to form a new government and assign it to carry out the tasks until then, adding that if the elections fail, Prime Minister will bear the consequences of that; Because it violated the political agreement, as she put it.
The member of the House of Representatives confirmed that the parliament wants to hold the elections on time, respect the road map, and abide by the outcomes of the political dialogue, including December 24, the date of the election, and that they do not even want to think about not holding the elections on time.
Bu Saada stated that if the current situation continues as it is now, in terms of obstacles and security and legal violations, people may lose confidence in those responsible for not preventing these violations.
Bu Saada considered that the international stance on the elections appears to be somewhat deceptive. “They all call for the elections and their date in public, and at least in private they do not prevent other parties that support their representatives inside from obstructing the elections or deviating them from their legal and legitimate tracks.”
It is worth noting that Parliament spokesman Abdullah Blehiq confirmed, on Tuesday, that the parliament is holding a closed session in Tobruk, chaired by the second deputy, Ahmid Houma; To discuss developments in the electoral process and a number of laws.
