During its meeting in Tunisia, “5 + 5” discusses the implementation of the agreement to remove mercenaries from Libya.

The Libyan Joint Military Committee 5 + 5 held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the file of the removal of mercenaries and foreign forces from the country, in the presence of the United Nations mission in Libya and the African Union mission.

A member of Haftar’s military committee, Khairi Al-Tamimi, said in press statements that this meeting is a continuation of the Cairo meetings that were held 3 weeks ago, explaining that the meeting will discuss ways to implement what was agreed upon there regarding the removal of mercenaries and African foreign forces.

On November 11, Haftar’s militia announced the removal of 300 mercenaries from the areas under its control, as a first batch.

It is worth noting that the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee discussed, during its meeting in Cairo, on the 30th of last October, with representatives of Chad, Niger and Sudan, the establishment of an effective communication and coordination mechanism to remove mercenaries and fighters of all classifications, who belong to these countries.

The Security Council holds two meetings within 24 hours on the Libyan issue.
