In a report, the newspaper pointed out that the Israeli role in Libya depends on Egyptian and Emirati influence, adding that the Israeli ambassador in Cairo, Ishak Livnon, said that if Khalifa Haftar wins the presidential elections, work must be done for Libya to join the normalization agreements with Israel, because its joining will represent A historic transformation in the Middle East,” he said.
In a related context, “Israel Hayom” newspaper last week quoted people close to Haftar that he will work to normalize relations with Israel if he wins the presidential elections.
An Emirati official told the newspaper that Haftar and Saif al-Gaddafi agreed to normalize with Israel and join the Abraham agreements, and both of them had made it clear in the past that normalization with Israel was part of their plans, in secret talks with close people to them.
And the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, confirmed last month that Saddam, the son of Khalifa Haftar, visited Israel on a private plane belonging to his father; To request the military and political assistance of Israeli officials in the upcoming elections for Haftar, in exchange for his pledge to establish diplomatic relations in the future between Libya and the Israel if he wins the presidency of the country.
