The French “Africa Manager”: Saudi Arabia and Libya will loan Tunisia one billion dollars equally between them.

The French “Africa Manager” website said that Libya and Saudi Arabia will grant Tunisia a loan of $500 million each with small interest to help it overcome its economic problems.

According to the website, the Libyan support comes against the background of the close rapprochement between the Tunisian government and the Libyan Interim Government, noting that the Central Bank of Libya and its Tunisian counterpart signed last week an agreement to cooperate in common fields, including financial technology.

The website added that Saudi Arabia’s announcement of granting it a loan to Tunisia came in the wake of the visit of Prime Minister Najla Boden to the Kingdom, in which she met Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In a related context, International Monetary Fund spokesman, Gerry Rice, said that they had received a request from Tunisia to support the new reform program, according to the North African Post newspaper.
