Libya intends to bring in workers from countries including Egypt, Turkey and Tunisia.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation announced the government’s intention to bring in workers from five countries, each with a specific specialization.

Al-Araby Al-Jadeed quoted a report from the ministry that Egypt will specialize in contracting, building and construction projects, while Turkey will specialize in engineering and electricity works, Tunisia in technology, and the Philippines in health and oil, while Bangladesh will specialize in services and public hygiene.

The ministry said that 60% of the country’s migrant workers work illegally, which made unable to enjoy their labor rights stipulated by the Libyan legislator.

It is worth noting that the head of the Labor Recruitment Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, Hamdi Imam, said last June that the number of Egyptian expatriate workers that will reach Libya is about two million workers in the first 3 years, as they will come in batches.

“The Times”: Haftar may recognize “Israel” in exchange for its support for him in the elections.

AFRICOM: We support the efforts of the US State Department to ensure the holding of the Libyan elections in December.
