Al-Jehani: The mission statement is a blatant interference, and the election laws will not be according to its mood.

Member of Parliament, Essam al-Jehani, said in a statement to Arraed on Sunday that the mission’s interference in the internal affairs of the parliament is a blatant interference in the parliament’s work.

Al-Jehani denounced the statement of the UN mission, pointing out that this is not the first intervention it is making, and it is creating strife among them, and obstructing work.

The member of the House of Representatives stressed that the mission has no right to interfere in the laws, articles and clauses, but rather it is the original competence of the House of Representatives, stressing that the laws will not be in the mood of the mission.

It is worth noting that the United Nations Support Mission in Libya called, in a statement on Saturday, for the removal of restrictions imposed on participation in the elections to allow Libyans holding public positions the opportunity to freeze their duties from the time they submit their candidacy for the presidential elections, as proposed by the High National Elections Commission.

Al-Koni rejects Al-Lafi’s initiative on the elections… The mission calls on MPs to adopt the commission’s amendments.
