The Russian “Sputnik” news agency reported, Sunday, that three Egyptian warships crossed the Turkish Dardanelles and Bosphorus Straits.
The agency added that boats belonging to the Turkish Coast Guard escorted the Egyptian ships, and the agency published footage showing the moment when the “Al-Fateh” and “Alexandria” frigates and the missile boat “Ali Jad Fahmy” of the Egyptian Navy crossed the two maritime straits.
And press reports, carried by “Sputnik”, indicated that the Egyptian ships were on their way to the Black Sea, where they would participate in the first Egyptian naval maneuvers with Russia.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian-Turkish relations have witnessed during the past years many strains stages, in light of the deep disagreement between the two countries on regional and political issues.
