Erdogan calls on NATO to assume its responsibilities towards unilateral steps in the eastern Mediterranean.

Turkish President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan said that NATO should shoulder its responsibilities towards unilateral steps that ignore international law and harm regional peace in the eastern Mediterranean.

On Friday, Erdogan added, during a phone call with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, that Turkey will continue to protect its rights and interests at all times and places, and that it supports a just solution that benefits all eastern Mediterranean countries.

It is worth noting that NATO, Germany, France and several European countries confirmed, on Friday, that they stand with Greece in the current tensions between Turkey and Greece over the eastern Mediterranean.
