The head of the Justice and Construction Party, Mohamed Sawan, said that the party believes in democracy and rejects the extremist ideology of the “Islamic State” or the “Modakhala” Salafi movement imported from Saudi Arabia, who are present in the country, according to him.
Sawan said, in an interview with the French newspaper “libération”

Sawan explained that the reason for his rejection of the Egyptian initiative is that it is not based on the political agreement signed in the year 2015 under UN auspices, which is the only legal basis for the solution, and that Egypt is involved in the conflict alongside Haftar, so it cannot be a neutral mediator.
Sawan pointed out, in the context of his speech to the newspaper, that the plan requires, according to the statement of Aqeela Saleh, to exclude political parties and the Supreme Council of State the legislative body in the western region; So it is preparing for a return to the tribal system, and “we reject that and believe in elections.”
