
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned on Wednesday the bombing of Haftar militias on the Al-Hadba General Hospital and attacks against medical staffl.
In a statement, Guterres reminded all parties that medical staff, hospitals and other medical facilities are protected under international humanitarian law, and that any attacks targeting them may amount to war crimes.
Guterres renewed his call to establish a humanitarian truce in Libya, with the aim of saving the lives of Libyans and allowing the Libyan authorities and their partners to devote their efforts to limiting the spread of the Corona virus.
It is worth noting that Alkhadra Hospital was bombed on Tuesday, to the second day of the indiscriminate shelling with a number of shells by the militias of Haftar, what resulted in the injury of a number of citizens, and a foreign worker, in addition to damages to the hospital and the personal belongings of the patients.
