The anti-terrorism force called on UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salameh to reveal evidence of his allegations and to give them the names of “extremists” who spoke of their presence in the Libyan army in Tripoli.
The force, in a statement Saturday, said that the last they had hoped, and they are facing a brutal aggression, that a UN envoy would come and accuse them of harboring extremists who are defending the state’s civil society and institutions, asserting that without the aggression on the capital they would not have taken up arms against other Libyans.
The force called on the Libyans who were involved with the war criminal Khalifa Hafer and his militias to lay down their arms and surrender to the forces of Borqan Al-Qadab, and those who do not want to surrender themselves must escape, especially as the process enters a new stage, according to the statement.
It is noteworthy that the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salameh sent a letter of apology to Interior Minister Fathi Bashaga, what he described as an unintended error in his recent briefing to the Security Council because of false information provided by his colleagues in the mission.
