President of the Presidential Council (PC) Fayez Al-Sarraj expressed his hope that the National Conference, which is scheduled to be held mid-next month, would be a road map for elections to end the transitional stages and lay the foundation for the construction of a modern civil democratic state.
During a dinner held in his honor in the Turkish capital of Ankara, attended by members of the Arab and African diplomatic corps accredited to Turkey, Al-Sarraj said that he received a response from countries interested in the Libyan issue to play a positive role contributing to the achievement of these elections.
Al-Sarraj stressed that the division was a major factor in the continuation of the current Libyan crisis, which necessitated his meeting with various parties to achieve a consensus that would end this division, unify the sovereign institutions and lead to elections.
The head of the presidential council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, met, on Wednesday in Ankara, with Turkish President Erdogan to discuss the latest political situation in Libya and bilateral relations between the two countries.
