GNA declares three days of mourning for victims of HNEC suicide bombing

The head of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Faiz Al-Sarraj announced on Wednesday three days of mourning for the victims of the “terrorist” attack on the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) headquarters in Tripoli.

In a statement published on the official page of the GNA, Al-Sarraj condemned the attack as a desperate attempt to disrupt the democratic process and to abort the democratic experience in the country, pointing out that those who stand behind it will not escape punishment and will find no safe place for them in Libya.

Al-Sarraj added that the fight against terrorism in all forms will still go on throughout the country, stressing determination to move forward in the democratic path that the people wanted.

The GNA Interior Ministry said 14 people died as a result of the attack, while 19 were injured.
