Libyan consulate in Egypt broken into

A group of persons affiliated with the former Libyan consul in Egypt, Mohamed Al-Dersi, stormed the headquarters of the Libyan consulate in Alexandria, Egypt.

A source told ArraedLG, Al-Dersi opposed the decision issued by the Presidential Council (PC) to assign Adel Al-Hassi as the new consul of Libya in Alexandria, explaining that there are efforts to contain the situation.

The head of PC spokesperson, Mohamed Salak, said during a press conference on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Accord (GNA) is in contact with Egyptian authorities to end the matter.
