AU: Appropriate conditions must be created for elections to be held in Libya

The chairperson of the African Union (AU), Moussa Faki affirmed on Tuesday, on the need to find conditions helpful to national reconciliation, and fair and transparent elections in Libya.

Faki urged during the AU’s High-Level Committee on Libya meeting in Ethiopia, the United Nations to work and coordinate further with the African Union to resolve the crisis in Libya.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Congo, Jean-Claude Gakosso also stressed during the meeting the need for a comprehensive national dialogue leading to national reconciliation in Libya, calling on neighboring countries to help Libya in the matter.

The African Union High-Level Committee on Libya discussed in a meeting today, with participation of the UN  special envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame, national reconciliation and elections in Libya.
