The Libyan Coast Guard rescued 217 illegal immigrants off the coast of Garabulli.
The Libyan Navy spokesperson Ayoub Qassem said, in a statement to ArraedLG, the migrants, who include “85 women and 10 children of different African nationalities,” were aboard two rubber boats.
Qassem added that the migrants were handed over to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency at Tajoura shelter after providing them with humanitarian and medical assistance.
In early February, a Coast Guard patrol rescued 202 illegal immigrants in two separate operations, one in northern Sabratha and the other north of Zuwara.
