Speaker of HOR: Saif Gaddafi’s candidacy “prevented by judiciary”

Speaker of the House of Representatives (HOR), Aqila Saleh said on Wednesday Saif Al-Islam running for presidency is inappropriate, because many Libyans have a grievance against him.

Aqila said in an interview with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the candidacy of Saif Al-Qadafi may lead to more division among Libyans, stressing that the reason for excluding him is the law.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Saif Al-Qadhafi during the February 2011 revolution on the charge of war crimes against humanity.
