Sirte Oil Company said a worker was injured by an explosion in the natural gas heating unit at the second methanol plant.

The company reported on its official website on Saturday, the condition of the worker, Hassan Masood is stable and is being treated at Ibn Sina clinic in Benghazi, noting that the firefighters took all necessary measures to extinguish the fire, which caused severe damage to the unit base.

Sirte Oil Company was established in 1981, headquartered in Brega port, is one of the oil companies of the National Oil Corporation (NOC).
