Algeria considering possibility of exporting electricity to Libya through Tunisia

Algeria’s Energy and Mines Minister, Mustafa Al-Qiotni said on Monday, Algeria is considering the possibility of exporting electricity to Libya via Tunisian territory.

Al-Qiotni, who is currently visiting Tunisia, according to the Algerian newspaper Al-Jarida, said cooperation is present between Tunisia and Algeria to exchange electricity in the summer and we are seeking a similar agreement with Libya.

Libya suffers from a crisis from time to time in electricity, because of failing electrical units, which is causing a deficit in energy production.
