Italy provides medical assistance to Zuwara

The Italian embassy in Libya, delivered the first batch of emergency assistance to Zuwara General Hospital, as part of the Italian government’s program, “A Bridge of Solidarity”, to assist areas affected by illegal immigration in Libya.

The embassy said on Twitter, this aid will support the city of Zuwara in the face of the crisis caused by illegal immigration, stressing its commitment towards Libya to stop any new attempt to resume smuggling.

Italy’s ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Perrone, visited the municipality of Zuwara on Wednesday,  and held a closed door meeting with the mayor of the municipality, Hafez Ben Sassi, members of the municipality and the Zuwara General Hospital administration.

On Monday, the program, “A Bridge of Solidarity”, delivered urgent assistance to the municipality of Garabulli (Castelverde) in the form of modern medical equipment.
