The United States Embassy in Libya welcomed the UN Security Council resolution calling for the international community to resolve the political and security crisis in Libya while protecting its sovereignty, independence, and national unity.
The embassy, on Tuesday, confirmed its support for the decision to prevent the illegal exportation of oil and the extension of the freeze on the assets on the institutions undermining security in Libya, also the decision to include sexual violence on the sanctions list.
The UN Security Council on Tuesday issued a resolution on Libya calling for the government to speed up the control of the National Oil Corporation and the Central Bank of Libya, in addition to the Libyan Investment Corporation, expressing its readiness to review the provisions of the arms embargo.
