On Monday, the Libya’s delegate to the United Nations, Al-Taher Al-Sunni, said that the Security Council will hold an informal closed session of the Sanctions Committee and the Group of Experts headed by India to discuss the implementation of the Security Council resolutions on Libya.
Al-Sunni added, in a tweet to him, that Libya will participate in the session with members of the Council, neighboring countries, countries interested in Libyan affairs and those whose name was mentioned in the report of the sanctions committee, as well as the Arab League, the African Union and the European Union.
Al-Sunni explained that the meeting is the fourth of its kind, and aims to discuss what was stated in the reports of the team of experts and the extent of commitment to implement the UN resolutions, in particular on the issue of adherence to the arms embargo, the freezing of assets, attempts to illegally export oil, travel bans and the freezing of assets for individuals included in the sanctions list. .
It is worth noting that the reports of the United Nations Group of Experts on Libya revealed the involvement of a number of countries in supplying weapons to Libya, in violation of Security Council resolutions and the International Sanctions Committee of the Security Council.
