Saving more than a thousand migrants off the coast of Libya within 48 hours.

On Tuesday, the Libyan Coast Guard rescued 182 illegal immigrants of various African nationalities, who were on their way to European shores in rubber boats.

For its part, the International Organization for Migration revealed, on Monday, that the Coast Guard rescued more than a thousand illegal immigrants off the Libyan coast within 48 hours, according to a tweet on their Twitter account.

Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper confirmed that 310 migrants were returned to the Libyan territories by the Libyan Coast Guard on Saturday night, while 173 others were returned on Sunday.

As for the Ministry of Interior, it said: The Coast Guard rescued “79” migrants, in addition to “112” others on the 28th of this March.

On March 20, the marine boat “301” of the General Administration of Coastal Security recovered “6” bodies of illegal immigrants of different nationalities, including a woman, who were found at sea north of Mellita.

It is worth noting that the number of illegal immigrants increased from the beginning of the year until the first of March, when 4,029 people were intercepted, including 222 minors, and at least 142 were missing, and 28 bodies were recovered at sea, according to the “Mediterranean Saving Humans” organization.
