The director of the National Center for Disease Control, Dr. Badr El-Din Al-Najjar, confirmed Tuesday in a statement to Arraed that the center is conducting tests to discover if the “Brazilian” mutation of the Corona virus has entered the country, “which is the most dangerous mutation of all.”
Al-Najjar explained that the London and South African strains changed the epidemiological situation in the country for the worse. And they caused the virus to spread rapidly in the community, and increased deaths and critical cases, and overcrowding isolation centers.
Al-Najjar indicated that resorting to complete closure and suspension of studies are two options that are not currently on the table, indicating that the commitment of the Ministry of Education to preventive measures in educational institutions is acceptable, and the responsibility for evaluation has been assigned to the field teams, according to him.
Al-Najjar had confirmed in a statement to Arraed Tuesday that 5 million doses of the British “AstraZeneca” vaccine will arrive in Libya, successively, within two weeks.
