Dhaw Al-Mansouri: The Hurghada agreement is booby trapped and it is difficult to complete the referendum on the draft constitution.

Dhaw Al Mansouri, a member of the Constituent Assembly for the Drafting of the Constitution, told Arraed that the outcomes of the Constitutional Committee meeting in Hurghada are booby trapped, and it is impossible to implement the referendum on the draft constitution, indicating that getting 50% + 1 in all electoral districts is a “complicated issue.”

In a statement to Arraed, Al-Mansouri explained that in the event that the draft constitution does not obtain this percentage in Tripoli, Barqa and Fezzan, it will remain going between the constituencies, unless a general percentage of the participants in the referendum is specified, for example 50% or 60, then the project will remain without a referendum.

It is worth noting that the Constitutional Committee, consisting of members from the House of Representatives and the State Council, had adopted on February 12 during its meeting in Hurghada a constitutional amendment to implement the referendum on the constitution in the three-regions system, “Tripoli, Barqa and Fezzan”, to gain confidence after obtaining 50 + 1 in each region separately.
