Tunisia returns to Russia military equipment meant for Haftar

The Tunisian authorities returned military equipment to Russia, which was directed to the commander of Operation Dignity Forces, Khalifa Haftar, after months of detention in the port of Sfax.

According to security sources, the Middle East Monitor said the operator of the seized ship promised to pay the cost of returning the equipment to Russia, which prompted Tunisia to approve the order.

Haftar signed with the Russian side agreements for arms supply on board the carrier “Admiral Tuzansov,” which docked off the Libyan coast in 2017.
