Tripoli Court sentences 45 defendants to death in “Triq Al-Sareeh” case

The Tripoli Court of Appeals, Second Criminal Circuit, convicted 99 people, 45 of whom were sentenced to death by firing squad, 54 were sentenced to five years in prison and 22 were acquitted of all charges against them in the so-called “Triq Al-Sareeh” case.

The court also pardoned one person, while three persons passed away before court can have a say on the case, according to the official page of the Ministry of Justice.

“Triq Al-Sareeh” case of ​​Abu Salim traces back to 2011 when a group of supporters of the former regime killed dozens of bystanders taking to the street.
