UNSMIL deputy: We have to focus on reconciliation agreements in Libya

Deputy chief of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) for political affairs, Stephanie Williams stressed on Sunday the importance of focusing on dialogue, local reconciliation agreements and social cohesion in Libya.

Williams told a news conference, on the sidelines of Al-Solh Khair (Reconciliation is Better) campaign in Tripoli, media plays a vital role in reducing incitement and division, strengthening national identity and democratic values, spreading a culture of reconciliation, understanding and respect for diversity and marginalized groups in Libya.

Al-Solh Khair campaign aims at promoting dialogue and reconciliation in Libya in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and international donors.
