South Korea in contact with Libyan authorities about the release of kidnapped Korean employee

South Korean President office spokesperson, Kim Wye-kiom said on Thursday South Korean authorities are in contact with the Libyan government and its allies such as the United States and the Philippines since the kidnapping of a Korean national to help free him.

Kim, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, said that President Moon had ordered every effort to save the kidnapped employee of Al-Nahr company, using all the capabilities of the state since the first day of his abduction, stressing that they had sent a military unit that was carrying out its missions in the Gulf of Aden to the waters near Libya via the Suez Canal.

 

A video recording showing the kidnapped employees was heavily circulated on social media platforms on Wednesday.
