NOC considering new plans to protect oil fields

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) chairman, Mustafa Sanalla said the Corporation is working to find alternative and long-term solutions that will enhance security in the oil fields and ensure the safety of workers.

In his visit to the Sharara field, Sanalla was briefed on the new security arrangements that were put in place to protect the field, especially after the kidnapping of four of its employees recently.

An armed group kidnapped last Saturday, four employees of Sharara field after storming in, before releasing two of the kidnapped, holding the other, one Libyan and the other of Romanian nationality.
