African Union calls on militants to stop damaging oil facilities

The head of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat called on militants to stop any attempt to harm the oil installations in Libya.

In a statement issued Sunday in Nouakchott, the head of the Commission appealed to all parties to avoid actions that hinder the resolution of the crisis in Libya, indicating his intention to conduct a comprehensive dialogue; to promote reconciliation and peaceful response to all issues in aim of reaching a tangible solution to the Libyan solution.

The Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, is currently hosting preparatory meetings for the 33rd African Summit in the presence of leaders and presidents of the continent.
