The Libyan coast guard rescued 76 illegal immigrants near the coast of the city of Zawiya.

Libyan navy spokesperson, Brigadier General Ayoub Qassem said in a statement to ArraedLG on Monday that the immigrants are of different African nationalities, including 12 women and 2 children, adding that they received primary humanitarian aid, and then transferred to Tajoura shelter.

Last May, the Libyan Coast Guard rescued 241 migrants in two separate operations off the coast of Janzour and Zawiya.
