The head of the Presidential Council (PC), Faiz Al-Sarraj agreed on Tuesday with the UN special envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame and the Charge d’Affaires of the United States of America to Libya, Stephanie Williams, on the necessity of holding elections on a sound constitutional basis.

According to the PC official Facebook page, the agreement states elections be held before the end of this year, to end the transitional stages and enter the country in a stable political period.

The UN special envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame submitted a proposal last November to hold presidential and parliamentary elections before the end of this year.
