Counter-Terrorism Conference adopts CBL recommendation

The Central Bank of Libya announced on Monday that the meetings of the first international conference on combating terrorism agreed on implementing the proposal submitted by bank’s Financial Information Unit.

The Central Bank said in a statement, the proposal is a mechanism for coordination of local cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, drying up the sources of terrorism and organized crime, indicating that it includes the formation of task forces in each body concerned with the fight against terrorism and its financing.

The CBL added that the proposal is considered the nucleus of an effective local coordination and training of those concerned with formulating policies to combat terrorism, pointing out that the conference reached several important results.

The first international conference to combat terrorism “Terrorism and confronting it … reality and challenges,” was organized in the capital Tripoli, last Sunday.
