Afriqiyah Airways says news about threats by armed groups against GM not true

Afriqiyah Airways spokesperson, Omran Zabadi, denied on Thursday news that the company’s General Manager, Abdel Wahid Al-Alam, was threatened by “a group of armed groups” to sign a contract with Al-Thiaqa Insurance Company.

Zabadi told ArraedLG, Al-Thiaqa Insurance Company was and is still the insurer of the aircraft of Afriqiyah Airways in accordance with the contract established with it, two years ago.

The spokesperson demanded media outlets to investigate before publishing news, and hold off from circulating rumors.

Some media outlets have published new stories about an armed group threating the director of   Afriqiyah Airways to sign a contract with, Al-Thiaqa Insurance Company.
