A Spanish organization for the rescue of illegal immigrants stated on Tuesday that the Libyan Coast Guard had seized its ship in international waters.
The company, citing the Agence France-Presse, stated that its ship “Golfo Azzurro” was about 45 kilometers away from the Libyan coast, adding that the ship was detained for two hours outside Libyan territorial waters.
The “Golfo Azzurro” was barricaded in the prohibited zone declared by the Libyan authorities last week along 100 miles of Libyan territorial waters.
