Oil exports from Libya have increased significantly since force majeure was lifted on three of the North African country’s major oil facilities.

On Wednesday, Mustafa Sanalla, the chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation, said current oil production in Libya has reached 540,000 barrels of oil per day and is likely to reach 900,000 by December, which will be higher than it has been for the last three years.

The three oil facilities at Ras Lanuf, Es Sider and Zueitina were forced to close after armed conflict in Libya got out of control over the last five years.

Before the armed conflicts that were triggered by the 2011 Libyan uprising, Libya was producing around 1.6 million barrels per day.
