The Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) said it will distribute 150 million dinars, almost $110 million US, to the municipal councils on Saturday to assist in meeting the basic needs of locals.

The money will be given to the municipal councils during this week, according to a post on the GNA’s Facebook page.

The main role of the municipal councils will be to process the transfer of the 150 million dinars in accordance with the Ministry of Local Governments.

Baddad Qansu, the Minister of Local Governments and the commissioner of the GNA, said it will be up to the municipal councils to follow up with the minister himself.
